Harvest Manufacturing Ltd. was incorporated
in 1998. Darrell Walters, a journeyman welder saw
a future in building hopper cones to service the
agricultural community. He felt that from the direction
farming was taking, with the average farm getting
larger, the elimination of the local grain elevator and
the rail system, replacing them with large terminals at
a greater distance.
Trucking and loading being
key to moving grain the hopper cone is a simple gravity
loading system for moving grain in a fast and efficient
manner.
With his brother Doug, they set
out to manufacture hopper cones. They used the next year
to find land and construct a production facility meeting
their needs. Their new facility was built with hopper
production starting the spring of 2000. This year (2003)
being their fourth year of production, the company
continues to grow and increasing their product
line.
Darrell and Doug are very
proud of their facility, and the products they produce.
They continue to look for ways to refine their products
and the methods of production.
Harvest has
been able to fill the demand retrofitting older bins,
replacing rotten floors, eliminating shoveling to meet
the needs demanded by today's grain moving and handling
industry.
